The development of 1 lakh wells under irrigation programmes and 10% reservation for members of economically disadvantaged groups in district-level positions were both approved by the Jharkhand government (EWS).
During a Wednesday cabinet meeting presided over by Chief Minister Hemant Soren, a total of 40 decisions were made.
An official announcement indicated that approval had been issued for the “Birsa Irrigation Well Promotion Project,” which would see the construction of 1 lakh wells.
The proposal for two residential schools to be built in Chaibasa and Dumka at a cost of Rs 195 crore was also accepted by the cabinet.
On the model of Maharashtra Knowledge Corporation Ltd, it also approved the creation of Jharkhand Knowledge Corporation Ltd.
